Since I didn’t upload a Book/ Movie review last week, I thought “What the heck!, I’ll do them both this week!”. So here you go, a Movie and Book review!

So What’s the Story?

Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books—but we are real. Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. we have lived among you without you knowing. But they know.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They killed them all.

I am Number Four. I am next.

Is it any good?

I found this book okay, but I wouldn’t read it again. I loved the movie, and I will read the others in the series, but I just found it a little slow. I would recommend it if you are into fantasy and you love to read, but you need to be a dedicated reader to finish it!

So What’s the Story?

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year. Summary from amazon.com

Is it any good?

I loved the first book, sort of lost interest in the second book, but the third book? Well, I found it AMAZING! It’s interesting, descriptive, captivating and over all griping! I give it a ten out of ten! I recommend it for 13+ since it is gory, gruesome (descriptive) and has mature content.

As this book sadly brings an end to the ‘Hunger Games’ Trilogy, it also brings an end to the ‘Hunger Games’ series book reviews :(. But don’t fret I will still be reading and posting book reviews, and the first one is… I Am Number Four! Look forward to reading your comments!

So What’s the Story?

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumours of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Summary from amazon.com

Is it any good?

I was really looking forward to reading this book because i adored the first one, and i can tell you, it was gripping! I felt like it was just a filler between the first book and third book (hunger games and mocking jay), since it was really the info leading to what happens in the last book. I really enjoyed it and it was a little more violent than the first book, so i would recommend it for 13+

So What’s the Story?

Katniss Everdeen’s life gets put on hold when she gets put in a TV games show put on for the care-free capitol called ‘The Hunger Games’. This game show isn’t the usual spin-wheel type game show, it’s a kid vs kid fight to the death game show. As Katniss and her fellow district 12 tribute Peeta Mellark team-up to try and survive, the question everyone wants answered is ‘Who will win… The Hunger Games’.

Is it any good?

When I read ‘The Hunger Games’, I was stunned at what a great writer Susan Collins is. I loved her great use of adjectives and descriptive language. I would recommend this book to girls 12+ because Katniss is a great role model. She is strong and determined, and she is prepared to fight. I love this book and if you are looking for a sic-fi/ fantasy, you will to!
